Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL)

by World Bank

This World Bank project supports sustainable landscape management and climate-resilient farming practices in northern Nigeria's semi-arid regions, creating opportunities for agribusinesses and farming enterprises to access training, adopt improved practices, and potentially participate in value-chain activities around sustainable land use. SME farmers and agro-processors can benefit from capacity-building programs, access to climate-smart agricultural inputs, and support for sustainable forestry and agroforestry enterprises. Action: Register with participating state agricultural development programs or local implementing partners to join training cohorts and access technical support; explore opportunities to supply or service landscape restoration activities. This matters because climate resilience directly protects farm productivity and reduces crop losses in vulnerable northern zones.

Eligibility

Smallholder farmers and agribusinesses in northern Nigeria can access training on climate-smart agriculture, agroforestry, and sustainable land management; participate in landscape restoration initiatives; and potentially supply inputs or services to project activities. Cooperatives and farmer groups should engage with state-level implementing partners.
