Nigeria Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Program

by World Bank

This USD 700 million World Bank program funds water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure across Nigerian states, creating opportunities for SMEs in construction, plumbing, equipment supply, and maintenance services. As a water/sanitation SME, you can bid for contracts under World Bank procurement rules, supply materials and equipment to implementing agencies, or provide installation and maintenance services. Participating states will need local contractors and service providers—registering with state water boards and meeting World Bank vendor standards opens access to substantial project work.

Eligibility

SMEs can: (1) Register as vendors/contractors with participating state water authorities; (2) Bid for construction, plumbing, and sanitation installation contracts under World Bank procurement; (3) Supply pipes, pumps, treatment chemicals, and hygiene products; (4) Provide maintenance and repair services post-installation. Requires World Bank vendor registration and compliance with procurement standards.
